Vector Control Technical Working Group

CARPHA continues to provide technical assistance to its member states to improve implementation of their Integrated Vector management (IVM) Strategies and to develop country-specific strategies in the area of prevention and control of VBDs. This approach will contribute to more effective control of mosquito vectors in the Caribbean. CARPHA will also continue to provide training to CMS in the area of Insecticide Resistance Testing (IRT) and evaluate vector control measures in CMS with a view to provide recommendations for improvement. Training in the use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS), which will help in collating and merging relevant datasets for real-time surveillance for timely and targeted responses for vector control interventions will be pursued. Additionally, CARPHA will evaluate vector control measures, new tools and products for the prevention and control of mosquito borne diseases in CARPHA member states.
